2023/24 NSW Championships announced!

2023/2024 NSW Championships announced!

Triathlon NSW is pleased to confirm the events that will host State Championship events for the upcoming season.

We have some really exciting events that are hosting State Champs for the first time and some much loved events returning again.

There's bragging rights, bling, exclusive State Champs merch and a place in our hall of fame all up for grabs, so mark these dates in your diary now!

Cross Tri Standard State Championships (1KM SWIM, 29KM MTB, 8KM TRAIL RUN)
In2Adventures TREX (Port Stephens)
Saturday 2nd September 2023

The addition of Cross Tri to NSW's program is something that has everyone licking their lips with excitement. 

TreX Cross Triathlon Port Stephens features a sea swim in beautiful Fingal Bay followed by a Euro-style mountain bike course in Tomaree National Park and a spectacular trail run along scenic coastal paths, where you may spot some whales, dolphins or both!

Long Course State Championships (1.9KM SWIM, 90KM BIKE, 21.1KM RUN)
IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney
Sunday 24th September 2023

Not a new event to the NSW Race calendar, but new to the NSW State Championships, IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney is held at the sensational Sydney International Regatta Centre. With spectacular views of the Blue Mountains and one of the safest open water swims around, this is the perfect playing field for a world-class Long Course NSW State Championship!

Sprint Duathlon State Championships
Panthers Tri Club Duathlon- Sydney Motorsport Park
Saturday 6th January 2024 (evening event, under lights!)

The home of Australian Motorsport, Sydney Motorsport Park, will provide a world class venue for this year's State Duathlon Champs, hosted by Panthers Triathlon Club.

Lock in the evening of Sat 6th Jan to experience the unique thrill of racing under lights around this magnificent circuit!

Standard Distance & Aquabike State Championships
H Events Stockton Island Triathlon
Sunday 4th February 2024

Stockton Island is just North of Newcastle and is a colour city that is anything but ordinary. Stay in Newcastle and catch the ferry over to the race start! This will give you the opportunity to indulge your curiosity and explore Newcastle’s vibrant culture, rich heritage and electric atmosphere. Not to mean the safe, flat and fast course that will be set by our great mates H Events.

Aquathon State Championships (1KM SWIM, 5KM RUN)
Richie Walker Aquathon (Cronulla Triathlon Club)
Saturday 10th February 2024

Hosted by the Cronulla Triathlon Club this event has become one of the premier Aquathons in NSW. Held in the spectacular region referred to by locals as 'God's Country’, it’s actually Gunnamatta Bay where the action will take place, with a swim in the calm waters and run through the bushland. The event honours the legacy of great club member and athlete, Richie Walker, and 100% of profits go towards the Heart Foundation.

Sprint State Championships (750KM SWIM, 20KM20KM RUN)
Byron Bay Triathlon Festival

In 2024, NX Sports have bold plans to expand this event into an even bigger festival than before, featuring a range of competitions, inclusive events, and lots of great participation opportunities.

Triathlon NSW is proud to confirm that the NSW Sprint State Championship event will be part of this festival, providing even more reasons for the ultimate ‘Tri-cation’ in this beautiful part of the world!
