Finish Lines...Not Finish Times returns for a fifth and final time

The Triathlon NSW Board is proud to advise that Triathlon NSW has once again received funding for our Finish Lines Not Finish Times (FLNFT) and Inspire to Tri (I2T) programs.

We are now calling on applications from clubs to deliver the fifth round of ‘Finish Lines…Not Finish Times’ events and associated training sessions for season 2023/2024.

Last season was a huge success: Finish Lines Not Finish Times Events Wraps up for season 2022/2023 (triathlon.org.au)

Over the past four iterations of this program, nearly 3,000 first time females have experienced the sport. For many, this program was the start of their journey, which has since continued in their local club. Many have joined as members of our association and their local club and now take part in commercial events as well. The program has a demonstrated and proven track record of getting new ladies involved with the sport of triathlon but also reinvigorating some ladies who used to train and race and drifted away in recent times to return and be inspired once again through swim, bike and run.

For the 3,000 newbies, it started with their ‘Finish Lines Not Finish Times’ event - coordinated by clubs and delivered specially to reduce barriers and promote inclusive experiences for women and girls in a noncompetitive environment.

It's been so successful that the program was recently recognised by the Office as Sport at their ‘Showstopper’ event.

Only eight stand-out programs from around NSW State Sporting Organizations were profiled at the event. We were thrilled and honored that ours was as well.

Check out this awesome video they put together from Warringah Triathlon Club's events in 2022/2023 in this little video:

Triathlon NSW are once again encouraging our clubs to deliver a series of women's specific events across the state - these events can include triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons, or female-only waves in existing club events.

We invite our affiliated clubs who do not conduct events, to work collaboratively with clubs in their region to deliver training programs, aligned with other events.

Successful applicants will engage their local community with the goal of generating more participation, interest and driving new females to complete their first race.

Triathlon NSW extends their thanks to the New South Wales Office of Sport for the opportunity to conduct another round of women's specific events across the state.
