New Club Profile: Goulburn Tri Club

Goulburn TC.

Triathlon NSW is really excited to confirm a new affiliated club that will join us for season 2023/2024!

Goulburn Triathlon Club is an exciting prospect and we look forward to seeing what the committee and their members can achieve in their inaugural season. We hope you join us in giving them a warm welcome to the TriNSW community when you see them at an event!

1. What does the committee of the GTC hope to achieve in its first season?

In our first season as a newly affiliated triathlon club we hope we can encourage the Goulburn community to become involved in triathlon and grow our membership base. We want to showcase how great triathlon can be and how it can positively impact so many areas of a member's life. We believe that being a part of a community such as Goulburn Triathlon Club gives people a strong sense of belonging and a foundation for success in so many areas of life.

2. What is the goal of the club, how do you plan to keep members engaged and connected?

We have a few key goals as a club, including encouraging women into the sport and junior members. We are hoping that through weekly club social and training events we can grow these areas of the club and help members train for some key events in the season. Our social media will be our main form of communication and social events throughout the season.

3. Talk to us about your weekly club aquathons

Goulburn Tri Club has always had a strong turn out for our weekly Aquathon series in summer. We are hoping this continues again in the upcoming season. Aquathon is a great opportunity for new and long term members to participate in the swim & run event each week. With multiple distances to choose from and the location in our own backyard it's an easy first step for new members to compete and for the more serious to train whilst also making it easy for families to attend.

4. Is there one event above all others you are most looking forward to coming together as a club and competing at?

An event on our home turf is one of our big goals for the season, and the Goulburn Duathlon. As volunteers and competitors for the club, we believe will be strong and its a great opportunity for new members to get involved. We are also hoping to have a strong presence at both the Mini Huski series in November and the Huskisson Triathlon Festival in February. At last year's events Goulburn had a strong presence, and as a newly affiliated club we are hoping this will grow this year with the support of members. They're great events to aim for, being closer to Goulburn.

5. What are the long term plans for the club?

Long term plans of the club include growing our membership base, helping and supporting members within our club gain training and accreditation to coach members and encouraging females in the sport.

6. How do people contact Goulburn Tri Club to find out more?
