Racing returns for the second annual Billigence Championship Series

Triathlon NSW and Triathlon ACT in conjunction with naming rights sponsor Billigence, are excited to announce the second annual Billigence Pathway Championship Series for the 2021/2022 season.

In its second edition, the Series will see eight races delivered by local clubs, with athletes accumulating series points for their finishing position in each race. The series will utilize the extensive club network across both NSW & the ACT to deliver a range of safe, cost-effective multisport events for the benefit of NSW & ACT Pathway athletes aged 12-23 years. Designed with various race formats to challenge tactical nous and technical skills, the BPC Series is continuing to close the gap between state, national and international racing – an aspect more important than ever, with ongoing travel restrictions in place. The races will also bring together mixed gender race formats to enhance the athlete’s skill development and exposure to draft legal racing.

Robyn Low-Hart, Coach Education and Pathway Lead for Triathlon NSW and Triathlon ACT said, “The Pathway Programs have all launched across New South Wales with the Regional Academies of Sport Programs, The Triathlon NSW ROSTA and combined TNSW / TACT Emerging Talent Squad and Under 23 Squads and Triathlon ACTs TACTTA Program. The athletes have all been engaged with online education and are very eagerly awaiting the season to allow racing. Lockdowns and restrictions have really highlighted what athletes enjoy, and with the numbers in the Pathway Programs it clearly shows the passion that these young athletes have for the sport of triathlon. The BPCS is a perfect opportunity for the pathway athletes to showcase their talent, learn from racing experiences more locally in a competition that expose athletes to the demands found at the National Level”.

Jana Kapr Billigence CEO added “I can’t wait to watch our talented NSW & ACT pathway athletes (U12-U23) to compete in the second Billigence Pathway Championships Series starting in November. I extend my thanks to Triathlon NSW and all the volunteers conducting events from our host Clubs for their commitment and support to make it happen”.

Pending COVID-19 restrictions, the series begins on November 7th with a draft-legal Duathlon at Heffron Park, Maroubra, hosted by the Bondi Triathlon & Running Club.  December 11-12th will mark the hallway point with Canberra Multisport hosting a Draft Legal Super Sprint Eliminator and a Mixer Team Relay before the season is closes out with Tomaree Triathlon Club delivering Super Sprint and Mixed Team Relay event in early March.
