Triathlon NSW Board Update

At the December 2022 Triathlon NSW Board meeting, Glenn Schwarzel (Macarthur Triathlon Club) has been re-elected by his peers as the President for 2023.  Glenn was first elected to the role of President in 2018 and has held the role since.

“It is an ongoing privilege to represent our clubs and members, volunteers, and wider community. I am truly honoured and humbled by the Triathlon NSW’s boards continued support and trust in my leadership. I will continue to do my very best for everyone who loves Triathlon as much as I do and commit to remain firmly focused on what is best for NSW clubs and members when guiding the board on decisions.” Glenn said.

Triathlon NSW welcomes Deanna Waters (Warringah Triathlon Club) to the role of Vice President as she enters her second year on the board. Deanna has been highly committed and dedicated to the board since she joined in 2021 and will be a strong but balanced presence as the organisation continues to navigate challenging circumstances.

The Triathlon NSW Board also appointed Lucy Burgmann (Balance Triathlon Club) as an ‘Appointed Director’. Lucy has a wealth of governance and ‘Not for Profit’ experience and has a deep understanding of the recent history of the association, having worked closely with Triathlon Australia on a range of discussions regarding ‘Future Operating Model’.

We wish Dean Morison (Tomaree Triathlon Club) a warm farewell after he resigned after a two-year term at the November 2022 AGM. Dean was fantastic for the board, offering his knowledge, insights, and passion into every conversation, with a deep understanding of the importance of clubs and the volunteers who run those clubs.
