Novice Triathlon Programs in the ACT: Your Gateway to a New Challenge
The ACT is home to a vibrant triathlon community, with various clubs offering dedicated programs for novices. If you've been intrigued by the sport but never knew where to begin, these beginner programs are designed to kickstart your journey.
Running annually, the novice programs usually span a 8-10 week period and aim to transform beginners into triathletes, no matter their initial fitness level.
Who Is It For?
The beauty of these novice programs lies in their inclusivity. Whether you're someone who hasn't touched a bike in decades or a competitive runner, swimmer, or cyclist looking for a new adventure, there's room for you. The age requirement for most programs is 18 and over.
What Does the Program Include?
These comprehensive 8-10 week courses include training sessions in all three disciplines—swimming, cycling, and running—to increase your fitness level and hone your skills. But that's not all; they also offer information sessions that cover a wide range of topics pertinent to the sport of triathlon.
The grand finale of the program is a novice distance triathlon race, offering you a safe and supportive environment to put your training to the test.
Why Join?
Besides the obvious fitness benefits, participating in a novice program can offer you a supportive community, coaching from experienced athletes, and an introduction to a sport that offers endless opportunities for growth and challenge.
