In recent months Penny Slater has been here, there and everywhere - IM Oceana APAC Champs in Cairns, IM Andorra and the PTO Canadian Open in Edmonton before returning home to Canberra in early August. Amongst all of that, Penny was awarded the Darren Luskey Award for Ironman Achievement at the 2022 Triathlon ACT Annual Awards.
After securing her IM World Championships (Kona) qualification in Andorra, Penny has hit the ground running in Australia.
On top of training (complete with garage workouts) she's spoken candidly with UC Sport where she's shared part of her journey, including the importance of representation in sport. And just week, Penny opened the doors to her Kona preparation to the crew at WIN News Canberra - with the story airing on Sunday (August 28th) night. You can find links to both features below.

We're incredibly lucky to have such a great leader and personality in our sport, and we thank Penny for contributions on the course as well as her invaluable discussions off the course, that have (and will continue to) shape the sport we all know and love.
