We regret to announce the cancellation of the Greater Springfield Duathlon, which was to take place on Sunday, 21 July, 2019. 

Due to circumstances outside our control pertaining to road closures for a safe event, the difficult decision to cancel the Duathlon was a last resort. Despite multiple efforts and investigations at alternate venues, the event is unable to go ahead for this season.

The decision was not taken lightly as the event has been well supported by the triathlon community and the local area over the past six years.

We would like to thank our stakeholders for their collaborative efforts with working with us to try and find every available solution to conduct the event this year.

Triathlon Queensland remain committed to the event format and will be seeking out options for the 2020-21 season ahead of the Townsville Multisport World Championships in 2021 and look forward to seeing you across the triathlon landscape this season.
