The Challenge Family's THECHAMPIONSHIP event is on this weekend, with three Queensland professional athletes on the start line: Annabel Luxford, Kirralee Seidel and Ellie Salthouse.
The half distance event (1.9km/90km/21.1) event will be held at the x-bionic sphere in Slovakia - a purpose built sports facility covering 247 acres. Racing in this picturesque area, the swim is in the Danube River, the one lap ride through the historic region and a 3 lap run course on the purpose built paths at the x-bionic sphere.
The field has attracted a variety of professionals, with athletes finishing in the top 6 at the Rio Olympics, or a top 3 WTS rankings, Kona, 70.3 World Championships or ITU Long Course finish receiving invitations to race at THECHAMPIONSHIP.
