Troy Fidler

Troy Fidler’s extraordinary career spanned two decades, more than 200 races, started when he was still a schoolboy and still sees him involved in the sport - but not triathlon any longer.

It took him around the world, to races in the US, Japan, New Zealand and Canada and saw him win events over sprint, Olympic and long course distances.

Fidler grabbed headlines with a record at the 1990 Sri Chinmoy long course but over the next few years battled glandular fever and chronic fatigue.

During the course of his career some of his standouts results included winning the Australian sprint title in 1995 and the Olympic distance trophy a year later.

He finished fourth when triathlon made its debut as a demonstration sport at the Auckland Commonwealth Games and notched a number of top 10 placings in the ITU World Cup series.
Fidler also coached for 20 years before retiring and pursuing a career in finance. He now competes in age group mountain biking events.

Bianca Van Woesik

Bianca Van Woesik has been a champion on the triathlon race track and a great contributor to the sport off it.

One of the early champions of elite women’s racing, she won such iconic events as the Devonport and Nepean triathlons and finished on the podium at the 1991, 1992 and 1993 World Cup’s on the Gold Coast.

She also dominated long course racing for an extended period, winning the 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995 Australian long course titles.

Additionally, showing her versatility across various distances, Van Woesik was the short (Olympic) distance champion of Australia in 1993 and first Australian - in third place - in the 1993 ironman at Forster. 

Off the race track Van Woesik has worked to promote women in the sport and enhance opportunities for them, helped promote the sport in the media, served on Triathlon Queensland and was also involved in the voluntary establishment of the the current Hall of Fame and awards committee.
