IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Today all TriSA staff, our event sanctioning officer and Hartle Timing attended the site of our upcoming Race 2 of the SA Duathlon Series, at the Bend Motorsport Park. As a result, TriSA has two important updates regarding this weekends events.
Bike Course: In the next 24 hours TriSA will publish a new course map for a slighly extended bike lap of 4km, which has the benefit of riders having to do less laps (and thus lower the possibility of riders doing the incorrect number of laps).
Kids Event: At today's meeting it became clear that we are unable to run a "kids event" at this Sundays race. At our Victoria Park events, we are able to start our kids event as soon as all competitors are off the bike course. Over 3 seasons of running this series TriSA has become confident that it can provide a safe, fun, on-time kids event at Victoria Park. Our team was in unanamous agreement that we are unable to provide this same level of event for the kids event this Sunday.
We acknowledge out team will learn a lot from this Sundays event about how to incorporate a kids event in to our October event, however in the interests of clarity on all parties we must confirm that this Sundays kids event will not be going ahead. All entrants will receive a refund and will receive priority entry to a future kids event.
We know this news will be greatly disappointing to parents and children, and we are equally disappointed. We'll bring a kids event back to our Duathlons as soon as we can.
