In2Adventure's off road triathlon turned on the heat! Under testing conditions, that caused the kids race to be shortened, Queensland athletes put in strong performances to take out 15 Australian Cross Triathlon Championships and will automatically qualify for Cross Triathlon World Championships in Penticton, Canada.
The 1.5k swim, 30km mountain bike and 10.5km trail run with challenging and technical aspects pushed athletes to their limits, making Gold all the more sweet.
In the Elite Australian Championships the MEN's race saw Sunshine Coast local Brodie Gardner beat out defending Champion Ben Allen in 02:15:05.22.
In the WOMEN's elite racing current Cross Triathlon World Champion (20-24) Penny Slater was crowned Elite Australian Championship after finishing the course in 02:36:19.59. Joining her on the podium was Australia's U23 Talent Sophie Malowiecki and current World Champion (35-39) Leela Hancox finishing in third place.
