This year, Triathlon Queensland introduced the Champion School Award into the All Schools Triathlon and Aquathlon event. 

Participation in triathlon takes​ a supportive community and this Award is one way of acknowledging the guidance and support Queensland schools give to their athletes.  The healthy competition between schools also added an extra dimension to the day's events.

Taking out the inaugural Champion School Award was Genesis Christian College, who have their own affiliated triathlon club.  Second was Brisbane Boys College and the Gold Coast's Emmanual College took third place.
