Triathlon Queensland and The Event Crew today announced the launch of the expanded 2018 Moreton Bay Triathlon.
 
The 2018 event will again see the return of the popular Nissan Club Championships and the Triathlon Queensland State Sprint championships.
 
2018 also sees a restructure of the delivery of the event with event management specialist company, The Event Crew, taking over the delivery and the majority of the promotion of the Moreton Bay Triathlon.
 
Triathlon Queensland Executive Director, Tim Harradine said “Triathlon Queensland are extremely excited by this partnership, which allows the Moreton Bay Triathlon event to grow under the management of a specialist event delivery company,  and this development and increase in exposure for the event will maximise participation for our State Championships and Nissan Club Championship.   We see this as a positive development for the sport, especially for the greater Brisbane area."
 
The Event Crew's General Manager Brendon Downey commented “it’s important to retain the focus on the Club Championship and State Sprint Championship. We also looked at feedback around providing a longer challenge at the event - hence the return of the Olympic Distance option. We think this will be popular among those aiming for longer events in May and June as well as being a challenge in its own right. The Event Crew can also market the event to its large participant database from the Queensland Triathlon Series, especially to non-club members looking for further challenge in late Autumn.”
 
“In working together Triathlon Queensland and The Event Crew undertook an extensive review of the event, looking at ways to grow and attract more participants to the event. We are also excited about building on this event's success” Downey said.
 
“We’ve redesigned the event venue with the intention of making the event atmosphere electric for participants, clubs and groups and easy for spectators just as we have at our other events at Raby Bay, Robina, Kawana & Caloundra. We do have some longer term plans for the event but for now we want to focus on delivering the best event possible in 2018" Downey said.
