SCODY extend their commitment to supporting triathlon in Queensland by partnering with Triathlon Queensland to deliver the inaugural SCODY Club Championships - North Queensland the first of its kind in the top end.
The inaugural Triathlon Queensland SCODY Club Championships – North Queensland will be taking place at the 2016 Townsville Triathlon Festival, held over the 21st and 22nd of August.
SCODY are long-time supporters of everything triathlon in Queensland and once again, the Australian-owned and Queensland based custom-sportswear brand, have come on board to help Triathlon Queensland deliver to their North Queensland Clubs.
“We have been working to develop the Championships for our North Queensland clubs and SCODY have helped us make it a reality,” said Triathlon Queensland Executive Director, Tim Harradine.
“The vast distance in Queensland makes it difficult for all clubs to make it to the Moreton Bay Triathlon Nissan Club Championships, so introducing the championships in the North in conjunction with Townsville Tri Festival is far more accessible for our northern based clubs and athletes,” said Harradine.
“The relationship with Triathlon Queensland and their clubs and members is integral to the development of SCODY as a company. We have had a strong relationship with Triathlon Queensland for the past four years and it is one we know that investing in is a no brainer,” said Bernard Schreiber CEO of SCODY.
“The SCODY Club Championships -North Queensland will run similar to the current Nissan Club Championships as we had over whelming positive feedback from the one off championships in 2015,” said Harradine.
“By creating a North Queensland Specific Club Championships, we hope to encourage the regional clubs to continue to grow and develop by offering them opportunities closer to home,” said Harradine.
Triathlon Queensland affiliated clubs based west and north of Bargara are eligible to compete and earn points in the SCODY Club Championships - North Queensland. Athletes will have the chance to earn points for their clubs through participation and performance, with the overall winners being determined by an aggregate point system.
“Having SCODY on board for the inaugural event is great boost for the event and for our clubs,” said Triathlon Queensland Events and Sponsorship Officer, Rachael Gibson.
“SCODY understand that triathlon clubs are the corner stone of triathlon and are key to the development of the sport. The support that they are providing for our Club Championships - North Queensland will help these North Queensland clubs enormously,” said Gibson.
SCODY will be providing an amazing prize package, comprising a mix of online SCODY Credit* and cash prizes for clubs. This will help clubs set up and create custom gear for their members and use the cash component towards club development.

First Place Aggregate Winner: $1,500 Cash + $1,000 SCODY Credit
Second Place Aggregate Winner: $1,000 Cash + $500 SCODY Credit
Third Place Aggregate Winner: $500 Cash + $500 SCODY Credit

The winning package includes:
1. Free Design: SCODY graphic artists will work with winning clubs to create a special design at no charge (please note there is a maximum of 3 design changes. Any more than that and SCODY reserve the right to charge design fees).
2. Free online shop setup: SCODY will set up a private online shop for the winning clubs with up to 4 styles in a design created by the club.
3. The styles the winning club can choose, can be any style in the SCODY range. For example: polos and T shirts; Triathlon garments; active wear; compression tights; running wear; swim wear or any other sports in the range.
4. SCODY will issue the winning club with $X in online vouchers in a mix of any value winning clubs nominate. For example if the prize value is $1000, you can have one voucher for $1,000 to use in your shop or you can have one hundred $10 vouchers to use in your shop.
5. If the club is an existing customer of SCODY they may claim the prize as a credit against their next order if they choose to.
Triathlon Queensland will advise SCODY of the winning clubs’ contact details and a SCODY staff member will contact the club to commence designing the clubs’ own unique styles and arrange for the online shop setup and issue of vouchers. In the meantime please visit the Team Custom Shop on the SCODY website to see all the garments you can choose to apply to your design. All garments will be completely made from scratch and your design will be printed using sublimation printing. You can even put individual names on the garments.
