Greater Springfield Duathlon opened the season on a high for athletes with a tough and technical cycle course and scenic run through Greater Springfield’s Robelle Domain and ever growing Springfield Central.
Marking the first race of the 2016-17 Nissan State Series, athletes weren’t just putting their off season training to the test but racing for sought-after Nissan State Series Championship points and the Title of Queensland Duathlon Champion.The mid-winter race promised a chilly start for athletes but with beautiful conditions athletes embraced the run, bike, run format enjoyed what was a fantastic start to an action packed season.
Greater Springfield Duathlon was also the first of five Qualifying Races for the Triathlon Australia Age Group ITU World Championships Duathlon.
