Triathlon Queensland members headed to Round 6 of the Pho3nix Queensland Tri Series at Caloundra ready to tackle the next event in the Triathlon Queensland State Series – the Queensland Sprint Championships. 

Caloundra is a favorite amongst triathletes with a relatively calm and protected ocean swim, out and back multi loop bike course which hugs the coastline with the final run leg allowing for athletes to test their legs along the bike path with some amazing views of the ocean. A very humid morning didn’t put off a large field assembling at Woorim Park ready to take up the challenge of securing themselves a Queensland Sprint Championships podium worthy performance. 

There was some fast and furious racing across all age groups with triathletes pushing themselves on course hoping for a big result while keeping hydrated in the hot and humid Queensland conditions. 

A big congratulations to all those who competed at this year’s Pho3nix Queensland Tri Series Round 6 at Caloundra and an extra special congratulations to the following members who have been crowned State Champion – Sprint Distance.
