Super Sprint Race Weekend Showcases Next Wave Of Triathlon Stars

The 2022 Queensland Super Sprint Race Weekend (SSRW) attracted just over 180 athletes who competed across a big schedule of racing. SSRW has been a historic event for the next wave of triathletes tests their skills amongst some of the states and nations best up and coming triathletes.

Day one of the 2022 Super Sprint Race Weekend saw some hot competition with athletes tackling the Junior U23 Le Mans, Youth Aquathlon, Rookies Aquathlon, Junior Aquathlon, Youth Le Mans, Rookie Le Mans. Friday’s racing tested the versatility of those racing during these mixed formats. Closing out a big day of competition was the Rookies Mixed Relay, Youth Mixed Relay and Junior U23 Mixed Relay. It was a fitting close to day one of racing with exciting battles across all events.

Saturday saw another big day of racing at the 2022 Super Sprint Race Weekend with athletes backing up for day two of competition. The Junior U23 Triple Sprint, Rookie Super Sprint and Youth Double Sprint did not disappoint with those competing putting on show and establishing themselves on the leader board. With just Sunday’s Finals remaining, it will be a matter of who was able to back up after two big days of racing at the Gold Coast Performance Centre to deliver a big performance on the final day of racing.

Sunday morning saw the third and final day of the 2022 Super Sprint Race Weekend. It was set to be a big one. The addition of the Mini Aquathlon & Minor Aquathlon during the 2022 SSRW gave some of our younger competitors a chance to compete on the same course and test their swim and run skills.

All eyes then turned towards the Rookies, Junior U23 and Youth Finals where those competing gave everything they had left to climb higher on the leader board.
Congratulations to all of the 2022 Super Sprint Race Weekend competitors and a special congratulations to our SSRW podium places and overall champions.
