After a hiatus from the annual sporting calendar due to Covid-19, Triathlon Queensland today confirmed the location and date for the State Duathlon Championships at Wellcamp Airport on Saturday 24 July 2021.
The Wellcamp Airport Duathlon will be held utilising the private roads of the Wellcamp Airport Precinct and will offer a range of distances with the Standard format of 10km run – 40km bike – 5km run and three shorter distances on the afternoon. A Sprint distance, Enticer distance and a short Kids event will also be on the program. Full details on the event and course can be found on the event website wellcampairportduathlon.com.au

It’s going to be a fantastic event that will bring athletes from locations near and far. This event is also a great opportunity for the local community to get behind and be involved with. We’ll be at the finish line cheering on all of the participants and hope to see many familiar faces!”
Tim Harradine, Executive Director of Triathlon Queensland said, the ease of access to the Wellcamp area, the completion of the new Toowoomba bypass, and the ability to hold this event on a Saturday afternoon provides a new opportunity for the growth of an exciting element of our sport. We are excited to offer a full schedule of events, including our State Championships for Age groupers and a World Championship Qualifier for next year’s World Championships, to be held in Townsville. We anticipate a large field to attend from throughout Queensland and some from interstate.
Entries will open on Friday the 7th of May at 9am.
