The Ballarat Triathlon Club will be making waves this Sunday at Lake Wendouree, as they bring back open water swimming to the Ballarat region with the rejuvenated 'Swim to the Rings'.
Braving the recent spate of cold weather in Ballarat, swimmers will take on either the 500m or 2000m swim, which spans the distance of the historic 1956 Olympic Rowing course.
Over 300 people are expected to take part in the unique open water swim, one of a handful of inland open water swims in Victoria.
Olympic swimmer and Ballarat local, Shayne Reese has thrown her support behind the event. She will be manning the commentary mic alongside Ballarat Triathlon Club President Dale Coutts to keep those who prefer to stay on dry land in touch with the race.
Spectators and supporters will also be able to follow all the action live on the big screen, with racing kicking off around 10am.
For those yet to register, Ballarat Triathlon Club will be accepting entries on Sunday morning prior to the start of the race.
