The Triathlon Victorian Development Program has had a highly successful weekend at home and interstate with 15 athletes making their way onto the podium across two events.
The stellar results saw Brooke Mccullough claim 3rd overall in the Youth A division of the Australia Youth Triathlon Series, with Oscar Dart and Tristan Price both securing 4th overall in the Junior and Youth B divisions, respectively.
The Way Out West Triathlon, held in WA, the third and final race of the Series, with Victoria recording some of it’s best youth and junior results of recent years.
A sharp relay outfit backed up their podium performance in Glenelg, claiming 2nd in the Youth A Mixed Team Relay, with their Junior counterparts taking out 4th in the Junior Mixed Team Relay event.
Brooke Mccullough put together a great race which saw her take home 4th in a time of 35:42.16, just under a minute behind local Taylor Kroyer (34:39.29) in a very tight Youth A Final.
Oscar Riley gave a strong showing in the Men’s Youth A Final; another incredibly tight race. Finishing with a time of 32:56.64, Riley took home 6th in a highly competitive field. While in the Youth B Final, Tristan Price narrowly missed out on the podium, finishing 4th with a time of 35:21.98.
Oscar Dart found himself amongst tough competition in the Junior A Final. Dart finished with a sharp 31:04.22 to snag 5th in a heated race.
Back home in Victoria, a strong TVDP contingent dominated the field at the Victorian Schools Triathlon Championships in Elwood, sweeping the podium in 3 separate divisions.
It was an all TVDP affair in the Girls races, with Bec Henderson, Tegan Burns and Kodey Hodgson taking out 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively in the Senior Girls Race. While Amber Kirkbride, Lily Van Raay and Shakira Simmons cleaned up the podium in the Intermediate Girls division.
The results went a similar way in the Boys Championships races, with Charlie Lamont, Toby Linnegan and Declan Dooley all finding their way onto the podium in the Boys Intermediate Races. James Gold and Lachie Watson took home 2nd and 3rd, respectively in the Boys Senior Race.
Associate team member Tomm Jansen also put up a great race, finishing as the fastest overall competitor in the short course events.
