New title and prize money announced for Yarrawonga
The McGregor Trophy
Last year at Yarrawonga when we did presentations at the end of the end of each event we noticed there was a familiar face. One athlete Carole McGregor from the Shepparton Tri Club had entered four separate events ending with the following age results.
11th fastest female overall in the Dash for Cash
2nd in age group National aquathlon
1st in age group Long course Aquathlon
3rd in age group Olympic Triathlon
It was a great achievement!
So we have created a trophy named after Carole.
The McGregor will be awarded to the best overall Male and best overall Female athlete at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Multisport Festival. The winners will receive a trophy and $200 cash.
To be eligible you need to enter at least three events .
The athlete with the lowest points total wins.
The points will be awarded on the following basis.
Olympic Distance Triathlon Age Group result x 1 ( eg 2nd in age group 2 points)
Sprint Distance Triathlon Age Group result x 2 ( eg 2nd in age group 4 points)
Long Course Aquathlon Age Group Result x 2
National Aquathlon ( short course) Age Group Result x 3
Dash for Cash Age Group Result x 4
In the event of a tie each winner will receive a trophy and the prize money will be spilt.
If you enter more than three events only your lowest three scores count.
So come along for the whole weekend, enter a few events and see how you go.
Remember there is also a Club Shield to be awarded ( currently held by Shepparton Triathlon Club) .he more events you enter the points you get for your club.
