The Melbourne Grand Prix build programme is about to move into the part of the schedule that requires road closures around the circuit.
Over the coming weeks, part and full road closures of Aughtie Drive will take place. We work very hard to ensure that the information provided on the variable messaging boards is correct and provides plenty of warning of changes to the roads around Albert Park Lake. There are occasions when changes must be made to our plans due to weather conditions.
Whenever there are changes to road conditions, whether for a couple of minutes or for a day, we provide Traffic Management personnel. These traffic controllers assist all road users with information about changing road conditions. Traffic controllers are a useful resource. We ask that they are treated respectfully by all road users.
Lighting around the park has changed and will continue to change. Please be thoughtful of the lights on bicycles the visibility of clothing if you are riding on the Park roads for the next couple of months especially, during early mornings and late evenings
This month, St Kilda road will be reduced to 1 lane for the metro tunnel works; as a result, it is likely that there will be an increase in traffic around Albert Park. This is a time for all road users to be patient with the changed and changing traffic conditions in the area
