2018 AUSTRALIAN AGE GROUP TEAM SELECTION EVENTS ANNOUNCED

2018 AUSTRALIAN AGE GROUP TEAM SELECTION EVENTS ANNOUNCED

Triathlon Australia today announced the National Calendar of events chosen as selection races to qualify for the 2018 Australian Age Group World Championship Teams. With the 2018 World Triathlon Championships (Sprint, Standard and Open Paratriathlon) to be held on the Gold Coast there has been a heightened interest in this schedule.

Each of the qualification Series races is comprised of up to 10 races across Australia, 37 in total for Sprint, Standard, Duathlon, Long Distance, Aquathlon and Cross Triathlon.

These races represent your chance to win points to secure a place on the Australian ‘Green & Gold’ teams travelling to Denmark and Gold Coast in 2018. The Australian Championships are the pinnacle of the series across each discipline and provide athletes the opportunity to earn double qualification points.

Miles Stewart, CEO of Triathlon Australia says, “2018 marks another big year for triathlon in Australia, first the Commonwealth Games in April, and then the World Championships in September. I encourage everyone to ‘give it a go’ in representing your country at a home event, I can tell you first hand it’s an unforgettable experience.”
