BREAKING: Parker To Race IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships

Lauren Parker Race IRONMAN 70.3 WC

Lauren Parker will race IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in St George, UTAH this Saturday despite suffering third degree burns to her feet, facing possible amputation of toes, and being involved in a car accident in the week leading into the race.

After being highly unlikely to start following burn injuries sustained during the week, 32 year-old Parker decided overnight to go ahead with plans to tackle the tough 114.4km course.

It will be the first race since her inspiring Silver medal performance at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, three weeks ago in Odaiba Marine Park, and first IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship that she will be competing in.

Parker will have two nurses on hand to change the burns dressings on her feet after the swim and post-race to manage her injuries.

Nothing can stop this Aussie in the pursuit of her dreams.
