KEITH FLORY JOINS NATIONAL TEAM PROGRAM

KEITH FLORY JOINS NATIONAL TEAM PROGRAM

This month we were pleased to welcome Keith Flory to our National Team program in the position of Performance Programs Manager.

With extensive experience in the cycling industry, most recently as the Director of Performance for the Cannondale-Drapac Professional Cycling Team, Keith has been responsible for the performance planning process and athlete management across key team and season objectives. In 2017 Cannondale-Drapac impressively finished all three Grand Tours with the full cohort of riders and, amongst other successful campaigns, secured second overall in the Tour de France with Rigoberto Uran.

His early career was spent at British Cycling where he focused on Coach Education and development, which continued into his next role at the International Federation (UCI) in Switzerland where Keith headed up the development of their education programs across the athlete ‘entourage’.

“I’m proud of the legacy I’ve left in every job I’ve had in cycling and I’m extremely excited to be joining Triathlon Australia in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. I’ve got a lot to learn but having never shied away from challenges in life, I’m ready to embrace the challenges and to hopefully bring something different to the excellent knowledge pool that already makes Triathlon Australia a world leader,” said Flory.

A key component to this is Keith’s experience working across a de-centralised athlete program and bringing those pieces together at the front line of athlete performance.

Triathlon Australia National Performance Director, Justin Drew, is excited for what his experience can offer the team.

“Keith brings significant experience to the TA National Team program. His work across individual athlete planning and with coaches aligns with some of our key priorities geared towards performance. I am sure Keith will prove valuable in our athlete development programs through to our senior elite teams, and with our emphasis on talent acquisition, development and retention,” said Drew.

Also joining the National Team program is Dan Mangano in the role of High Performance Operations Manager. Well know in the triathlon community through his recent role with Triathlon Queensland and with the Triathlon Australia Junior and U23 development and coach education, Dan’s knowledge and practical skills will be an asset to the team.
