Toby Powers Awarded Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship

The Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) today announced the remaining 16 scholarships for up-and-coming elite athletes in its 2023 Scholarship and Mentoring Program, with Queensland triathlete Toby Powers receiving a grant of $2,500 plus support from SAHOF and its esteemed member base over the next 15 months.

Powers was delighted to be advised as one of the successful candidates for the program.

“My goal is to achieve the highest level in triathlon, and I am grateful that SAHOF can assist me in my journey with support and access to Sport Australia Hall of Fame Members and financial support.” Powers said.

Triathlon Australia Chief Executive Officer, Tim Harradine was appreciative of SAHOF’s support of Powers.

“Thank you to SAHOF for providing this wonderful opportunity for Toby. He is a deserving but also a humble individual who will relish this scholarship.” Harradine said.

Over the last three weeks, 32 Sport Australia Hall of Fame scholarships covering 28 sports have been announced, supporting the next generation of Australia’s sporting stars on their journey to excellence and success in sport and in life.

As the nation’s leading sports scholarship program, backed by the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Institute of Sport, $150,000 of funding has been awarded this year to the recipients for use on resources to help them achieve greatness in their chosen sport.
