Brian McGovern and Nickie Scriven join the Triathlon Australia Board alongside returning Director David Tucker.  

Three Directors were elected by STTA voting delegates at the 2021 AGM, to serve for a two-year term on the Triathlon Australia Board. 

Newly elected Board members Brian McGovern and Nickie Scriven – who are both passionate members of the triathlon community - have a shared desire to make a valuable contribution to the sport through strong governance and leadership, propelling the future growth of triathlon and multisport in Australia. 

Brian McGovern is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of FINSIA – the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, holds qualifications including Masters in Commercial Law, Master of Business Administration, with a successful corporate career in banking finance and investment (superannuation). . Brian holds a passion for the triathlon as a triathlete who has competed at all distances including 70.3 and Ironman including three times age group competitor in the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships (2009, 2014, and 2018). 

Nickie Scriven is a Non-Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer with 20+ years of experience leading financial and retail multinationals. She currently serves as a board member to world-renowned sporting and media organisations and impactfully leads high-performance teams. A long-time sports participant and enthusiast, Nickie has been competing in triathlons for 27 years and has served as a committee member of her local triathlon club. 

Returning Director David Tucker continues to bring over 20 years’ experience working in the sports industry to the Board. David held senior sports marketing and commercial roles including with Nike in Australia and the UK, Football Federation Australia as Head of Commercial, and as CEO of Infinite Retail, before forming the sports consultancy TCA where David works with a variety of international sporting companies and rights holders across sponsorship, events, digital, future technology and merchandising. 

Triathlon Australia thanks outgoing Directors Natalie Edwards and Nicole Donegan have made significant contributions through their time on Board - providing guidance and leadership through an unprecedented period of uncertainty and challenges.
