Triathlon Australia announce major ‘Project’ apparel deal

Triathlon Australia has officially launched a major four-year partnership deal with leading Australian sports apparel manufacturer Project Clothing at the Celebration of Champions awards night.

A fitting opportunity to reveal some of the new apparel, and in particular new look elite suits of Commonwealth Games Mixed Relay gold medallist, Matt Hauser, and New Plymouth ITU World Cup bronze medallist Jaz Hedgeland.

The new partnership will give Australia’s world class elite and age group triathletes all the benefits of cutting-edge technology as they prepare for major championship races.

Project Clothing is a global sporting apparel company, the Melbourne-based manufacturer has spent the last decade developing world class products for some of Australia’s best athletes in triathlon, cycling, running and AFL umpires.

They will become the, “Official uniform, compression and apparel partner”. Project Clothing will also be recognized as the Official Race Suit and Supporter of Triathlon Australia.

Project Clothing will provide outfitting, including the latest in its performance racing wear for Australia’s elite racing team, paratriathletes, Under 23s, juniors and all age group representatives at World Triathlon Series, Paratriathlon Series and ITU World Championship grand finals.

The agreement includes a commitment to continue research and development both independently and in conjunction with Triathlon Australia and relevant research institutions to ensure the best technologies are integrated into its race garments.

Triathlon Australia’s CEO Miles Stewart said he was excited about the partnership, a four-year-arrangement with an Australian manufacturer who had already worked to develop the best possible performance triathlon suits.

“Project Clothing have already been working with two of our Olympic athletes, Ryan Bailie and Emma Jackson to develop their suits for all conditions and they are committed to delivering individualized suits for each of our athletes to maximize their performance,” said Stewart.

“What we are equally excited about are the benefits for our age group representatives, with the provision of an Australian polo shirt  to every member of the Australian Age Group teams at the ITU Age Group World Championships.

“And in what is a real bonus, every Triathlon Australia member will receive 15% discount off Project Clothing generic apparel.”

Managing Director Graeme Clarke said his company was proud to be “an Australian manufacturer making suits for Australian athletes.”

“To partner with Triathlon Australia and the Australian team is a very proud partnership for us. Triathlon Australia has a long history of success at the highest level and we are thrilled to be chosen as their technical clothing partner for both their High Performance and Age Group teams. For the first time Age Group athletes will gain access to race and training gear with the same technology as their HP peers – which should result in some fantastic results. We look forward to successful relationship with all TA members and stakeholders.”
