Your Guide to Paratriathlon in Tokyo

Tokyo Paratriathlon Guide

The Australian Paratriathlon Team has now taken up residence at the Paralympic Village in Tokyo, ready to race on the world's biggest stage. For all the Aussie triathlon fans out there, here is everything you need to know about Paratriathlon in Tokyo and how you can get behind the team.

WHAT'S ON | KEY DATES

Paratriathlon will be making its return to the Paralympic Games at Tokyo 2020 after its debut event at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio. Since the inclusion in 2016, Tokyo will see an additional two medal events held for Paratriathlon, taking the total number of races to eight - evenly split between men and women. 

Paratriathlon will also see the total number of athletes competing increase from 60 in Rio to 80 athletes in Tokyo set to take to the start line - we are certainly set for action packed racing ahead! 

The Paratriathlon events will be located at Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo Bay and consists of a 750m swim, 20km bike (non-drafting) and 5km run.

PARATRIATHLON IN TOKYO

In the PTVI competition Australia will have two representatives. Katie Kelly alongside her guide Briarna Silk will be wearing the race number 605, and Jonathan Goerlach alongside his guide Dave Mainwaring will be wearing the race number 630.

In the PTWC competition Australia will have three representatives, with Lauren Parker allocated race number 104, Emily Tapp allocated race number 105 and Nic Beveridge allocated race number 125.

In the PTS5 competition Australia will be represented by David Bryant wearing the race number 521.
