The 2022 Cross Triathlon, Cross Duathlon and Duathlon World Championships are now underway in the Romanian city of Targu Mures for a week packed with Elite, U23, Junior, Para triathlon, Mixed Relay, Age Group standard and Age Group sprint distance racing.
Located in the Carpathian Mountains, Targu Mures, also known for its Gothic castles and for being the home of Dracula, offer a territory full of natural beauties and amazing flora and fauna. The city has proven to be the epicentre of multisport activity for major events, welcoming friends and families.
For Aussie Age Groupers it is the first time athletes have been able to join Team Australia and don the green and gold since 2019 ITU Age Group World Championships in Lausanne. Our small but mighty team are ready and raring to go across the Cross Triathlon and Sprint Duathlon events on Wednesday 8th June and Sunday 12th June respectively.
In the Elite, U23 and Junior categories there will be a mix of seasoned professionals and fresh faces in the Australian kit, with the likes of current Australian Cross Triathlon Champion Tom Fisher representing Australia at a World Championships for the first time. Aussies will be toeing that start line across the Cross Triathlon and Duathlon events on Wednesday 8th June and Friday 10th June respectively.
