Statement from the Triathlon Australia Board

On the advice of Sports Integrity Australia, Triathlon Australia recently entered into mediation with Emma Carney to discuss and resolve the issues Ms Carney has raised publicly.

Regrettably, this mediation was not successful.

As a result, Ms Carney has been advised that her membership of our organisation has lapsed and she is no longer a registered member of TA.  She may continue to coach athletes in a private capacity and will not be entitled to automatic TA funding, recognition, access or support. Any athlete that she coaches must continue to follow the appropriate processes for athlete categorisation.

We have clearly outlined that should she wish to be a member in the future and meet the terms and conditions presented at mediation, TA will consider her application for membership.

Triathlon Australia places the safety and wellbeing of our athletes, staff and members at the centre of our decisions. While we welcome feedback and opinion from all our members, we believe it is important all members uphold our behaviours of unity, accountability, courage, enjoyment and inclusivity to foster a positive culture for the benefit of our sport.
