Zofingen Comes Alive For Age Group Long Distance Duathlon World Championships

Zofingen Comes Alive For Age Group Long Distance Duathlon World Championships

Seven Australian Age Group Team athletes will be back out on the race course this weekend competing in the 2022 World Triathlon Age Group Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland.

For the 14th time in 33 years, the duathlon world meets at Powerman Zofingen for the official Long Distance World Championship. What was started in 1989 is still the pinnacle event in the international duathlon calendar, this small town in Switzerland has become the “place to be”, the “must do”, the “bucket list” entry for all determined duathletes and definitely the biggest and toughest test for long distance duathlon.

The route is considered the most demanding of all and is a corresponding challenge for all participants. The classic event on the World Triathlon calendar will once again be disputed over the 10 km Run, 150 km Cycling, 30 km Running distances, with athletes from all over the world vying for the world crowns.

With festivities kicking off this weekend with the opening ceremony on Saturday evening, 3rd September, followed by Age Group racing from 8:00am CEST Sunday (4:00pm AEST), 4th September.

We wish the Australian Age Group Team athletes the best of luck out on the course in Switzerland this weekend:
